Usec. Cruz also said that countries abroad mostly the Middle East and Asia countries will open at least 1.5 million jobs for Filipinos in health care and construction industries.

The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) said in that, despite of the ongoing crisis in many Middle East countries, POEA is still very hopeful that many jobs will be open for Filipinos and retain its traditional market like in Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

2011 saw a growth in overseas employment despite crisis in the Middle East. But there was a decline in hiring Filipino seafarers as a result of Economic recession in Europe.
